Youth Hockey/Ice Skating

Youth Hockey

The youth hockey program in Teton County allows our young people to learn the basics of the game. The program is designed to give our youth a fun environment in which they can learn and develop their hockey skills. Teams practice 2-3 days/week, depending on age group. Scholarships are available.

The youth hockey program is broken down into the following age divisions:

Ages 5-6: Mini-Mites

The Mini-Mites help the children learn basic hockey skills and have fun.

Ages 7-8: Mites

The Mites will seek to enhance their hockey skills by playing friendly scrimmages against regional teams. This age group will play two nights per week. Some regional travel might be required.

Ages 9-10: Squirts

The Squirts will learn advanced hockey skills and team play. This age group will play three nights a week. Some regional travel might be required.

Ages 11-12: PeeWees

The PeeWees will learn advanced hockey skills and team play. This age group will play three times a week. Some regional travel might be required.

Ages 13-14: Bantams

In this age group, players will learn advanced principles and skills required for more competitive gameplay. This age group will practice three times per week. Some regional travel might be required.

Ages 15-18: High School

In this age group, players compete agains other regional High School Teams in order to qualify and compete in the state tournament. This age group will practice three times per week. Some regional travel required.

SEASON HOCKEY GEAR RENTAL:
TVF offers affordable youth hockey equipment rentals for younger players. Rental bags include: Helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, pants, practice jersey, shin guards, and socks.

Youth Skating Lessons


Our beginning “Learn to Skate”program is designed for both hockey players AND figure skaters to learn and improve skating skills (ages 4 - 10). Our intermediate 
lessons (ages 6 - 12) focus specifically on enhancing figure skating technique. Skate rentals included. Scholarships are available
